$129.00
In this online, home-practice course, BBTRS® Founder Giten Tonkov personally guides you through the Biodynamic Breathwork & Trauma Release System.
The program allows anyone*—whether on your own, or as a student of our BBRTS® Certification programs—to fully experience BBTRS®’s transformative effects. This is a great way to maintain long-term engagement with the modality while developing and perfecting your own BBTRS® self-practice. In the process, be ready to look inward more deeply; release old, familiar patterns or energies; let go of armoring that no longer serves you; and tap into your full potential.
Your purchase of this course allows you lifetime access to the program sessions, so you can “refresh” yourself on your own terms, and in your own time.
21-Day Initial Journey
Sessions
Overview
Each of the 7 class sessions applies BBTRS®’s 6 Elements and signature techniques to a different area of the body—beginning at the top of the head and moving down the body, roughly aligning with the chakra system. Below, we forecast the series, including the sequence of “belts” of the body where tension is held, and primary lessons associated with each:
Session 2
Completing interrupted fight-or-flight responses and coming out of freeze and dissociation resulting from trauma.
* Ocular Belt Focus: Top of the head / scalp, temples, forehead, occipital lobe (vision center of the brain), eyes, cheeks, ears, base of the skull—the area that “looks for danger,” commonly holds tension, and results in headaches.
Session 3
Engaging expression and regaining flexibility of the neck (cervical) region.
* Oral and Cervical Belts Focus: Jaw/chin, mouth, nose, ears, neck, throat, tongue—the area related to expression, “finding our voice”; this area often holds a charge of anger and frustration in the jaw.
Session 4
Letting go of the protection and armoring surrounding the chest region, which develops to protect our heart. The mission is to soften this so that our natural impulse to reach out for connection can come from the core to the periphery. Remember that “core” is the French word for the heart (coeur).* Thoracic Belt Focus: Chest, shoulders, upper back, arms, heart, lungs—the area related to emotional injury.
Session 5
Releasing tension around rib cage and the organs that have become armored, since they are not protected by a hard shell. This invites flexibility into the movement of the ribs so we can take deeper breaths, and softens physical armoring of the abdomen, both of which releases many layers of tension.* Diaphragmatic and Abdominal Belts Focus: The waist and belly, including the rib cage, solar plexis / lower sternum, diaphragm, organs under the diaphragm and within the abdomen, as well as the abdominal muscles—the areas that house pain/pleasure, nourishment, and the seat of emotions.
Session 6
Bringing movement into this area, including lower back, allows for grounding and opening locked energy around sexuality, both of which encourage bio-energy flow up the spine.
* Pelvic Belt Focus: The pelvis and its organs, the primary core muscles, pelvic floor, buttocks, lower limbs—the area related to power, fight-or-flight, sexual feelings, and grounding.
Session 7
We review the entire practice again to reevaluate how the body has opened up in the past six sessions.
Disclaimer
*BBTRS® is a dynamic breathwork modality that stimulates the autonomic nervous system. Not all of our coursework includes active participation. However, people with certain physical or mental conditions, including pregnancy, should consult with their doctors before signing up for courses in which that stimulation is a part; others should discuss accommodations with their instructors. Your Guide
BBTRS® creator Giten Tonkov shares a mastery of body-oriented therapies that has evolved from more than 25 years of learning, exploration, and work with thousands of clients. A Licensed Massage Therapist and certified Breath & Body Oriented Therapist, he developed BBTRS® on a years-long personal journey of recovering his own body, which carried the impact of a childhood accident. His body “remembered” the accident in ways his mind did not, and the suffering was trapped within him. Throughout many years of working with different bodywork, movement, and meditation techniques, he identified a series of tools that came together into a single practice that he has been sharing with thousands across the world for more than 10 years now.
Giten documented this work, and its origins, in Feel to Heal: Releasing Trauma Through Body Awareness and Breathwork Practice.
