Now let’s assume
That both letting go of tension—and even erasing its triggers—are absolutely possible.
BBTRS® was developed for exactly this purpose. It touches six different access points into the mind-body- spirit, using Eastern and Western wisdom and techniques, ancient practices, and cutting-edge science.
BBTRS has supported people around the world, from all walks of life, to make permanent change in their lives—not only to heal from past traumatic experiences, but also to minimize damaging responses to future stressors. BBTRS is the original trauma-informed breathwork modality, setting the world’s standard for this important work. Its comprehensive, multi-modal approach was developed over decades—alongside today’s most groundbreaking somatic trauma scientific research.
What, exactly, is BBTRS®?
BIODYNAMIC BREATH TRAUMA RELEASE SYSTEM is a spiritual and physical growth process focused on creating space and relaxation in the body. This revolutionary healing modality invites us to feel—really feel—our physical bodies, hearts, minds, spirits, and energy centers. This intimate personal relationship allows us to stand more powerfully in the world, release stress and tension, consciously step away from negative patterns, and embrace our fullest potential. BBTRS is the beginning of a life-changing journey that we call FEEL TO HEAL.
What do we learn?
Once we know what’s happening within us—what’s working, what’s open, what’s tight, what hurts—the modality teaches several tools that help us channel our body’s own natural healing skills. We begin with a particular type of breathwork that stimulates the body’s natural nervous-system processes. This stimulation allows the body to move in a natural, organic expression—which literally, physically, releases tension, “cleaning out” our tissues, relieving our minds, and resetting our energy. Additional Elements, including meditation, bodywork, sound, and emotional expression facilitate the release and expand the experience into a holistic, life-changing one.
How does this modality help trauma dissipate?
Scientists have mapped how the body reacts to trauma; it stimulates our “fight or flight” system. Tension from reactions to trauma can be left behind for days, years, or decades—and even day-to-day stress can wreak havoc on our quality of life, our health, and our relationships. BBTRS® works because our automatic, physiological stress responses are quite similar to what happens during a spiritual experience—we enter an altered state. BBTRS’s therapeutic tools can access that altered state—and gently release what trauma has left behind. From this loving and therapeutic perspective, even past traumatic experiences have the potential to assist in deep and healthy transformations. And future experiences become more layered, subtle, and integrated.
Are BBTRS’s effects long lasting?
In each session, BBTRS® feels like a “spring cleaning,” but it also teaches us how to create permanent change within us. We learn how we want to feel; we learn how to manage our relationship with the environment; we refresh our relationships with other people. We encourage you to read our students’ reviews; many say that BBTRS® has changed their lives.
Is the course only for professionals?
No! We offer 2 routes—one for Personal Growth & Healing, and one for Professionals who serve clients (or would like to!). Each route has 2 different Tracks, online and in-person. Find the one that best fits your life!
Please note: BBTRS’s curriculum includes in-person workshops—which are held in beautiful locations around the world—as well as self-study and live online sessions. These programs touch on all Six Elements (detailed below), allowing students multiple avenues of engagement, understanding, and impact.
Training Options
We have developed 2 training routes, depending on your goals of personal use or incorporation into your professional practice.
The Personal Growth & Healing route supports those who want to experience this modality for themselves and change their lives through trauma release, forever enhancing their relationship with their bodies and the world.
The Certified Professional training is crafted for current or future working practitioners who believe that BBTRS can enhance their ability to help clients feel better. We support BBTRS practitioners to find their best expression of the work, an expression that embraces their individual strengths, personal subtleties, and work style.
Both routes are available to anyone exploring the program, regardless of previous background. Plus, we continually add timely, cutting-edge workshops that can expand even a seasoned BBTRS practitioner’s toolbox—so we encourage graduates to check back in to refresh their training over time.
Personal Growth
& Healing Tracks
For students who wish to focus on releasing the trauma in their own bodies, we offer either online or in-person tracks.
Professional Certification Training Tracks
Our Professional Certification tracks have been developed to support the manner in which the practitioner wishes to serve their clients—with one designed to serve those who wish to provide online sessions, and one for those that wish to offer both online and in-person sessions to their clients.
Please note: Within a certain period after beginning the program, a student in a basic training route can expand to a more comprehensive one—including transitioning from Personal Growth & Healing into Certified Facilitator options. Also, all training options are available to anyone exploring the program, regardless of previous background.

Can BBRTS® Really Make a Difference?
We live in a world full of trauma—social, familial, religious, and generational. People are contracted, filled with tension that can be carried throughout their lifetimes, and even passed on through a particular race or religion. That is the main reason we started this training. There is a real need for healing in the world. I want people to go out there and do it.
We are starting a kind of revolution. Fighting for peace is not possible, so the only real change comes through changing ourselves. As Gandhi said, “Be the change you want to see in the world.” We believe in bringing our “inner work” out into the world. BBTRS practitioners have transformed themselves. Thus, they are able show other people where they have gone before. Spiritually, academically, emotionally, they have transformed traumatic patterns and behaviors into growth.
We have found that the response is immediate for people who explore this work—whether it’s first experienced as a stand-alone therapy, or as part of a multi-dimensional practice, or maybe in a large breath meditation at a festival. Just one experience is enough to make people curious to look deeper. I sincerely hope it works for you, too.
The 6 Elements of BBTRS®
BioDynamic Breathwork & Trauma Release System’s® 6-Element approach empowers your body’s natural process for healing, restructuring your systems on a cellular level. Experiencing BBTRS® will leave you with ability to intimately connect with yourself and others, feel the “juice” of a vibrant life, and celebrate life to the fullest.
Breath
BBTRS® uses deep, connected breathing to “charge” the nervous system and provide access to the physical aspects of the trauma-release process. The full series of sessions allows tension to dissipate through movement, thus rebalancing your mind and body from head to toe.
Movement
BBTRS® stimulates the natural expression of the body to release held energy through movement. The movement is invited through somatic (body-based) and creative/dance exercises. From playful warm-ups, to organic, whole-body tremors, to undulating spinal waves, movement is key to what makes BBTRS® truly transformative.
Sound
Trauma causes an orchestra of tiny cellular reactions to occur within contracted tissues. Fortunately, sound can help “loosen things up.” In BBTRS® sessions with people especially attuned to sound, vocalization, recorded music, and live instrumental sounds can provide interesting impacts, either in the entire body or in specific regions.
Touch
Conscious touch, bodywork, and soft-tissue manipulation allow a practitioner to assist a person in the physical aspects of trauma release. When we apply touch to contracted muscles in the body, we support a flow of energy to areas cut off from their own physical and energetic circulation. In BBTRS®, understanding how and when to use conscious touch is central to all trainings.
Emotions
Emotion is held along with body tension, and both come to the surface during somatic work. However, BBTRS® is structured to avoid reactivating people, and therefore steers away from overstimulation. Our balanced approach honors what is coming out emotionally, and then connects that experience to the body—allowing people to release and integrate trauma, rather than simply relive it or become overwhelmed.
Meditation
Meditation allows us to develop our inner witness—and it is where BBTRS® begins and ends. It is the most effective path to sense and integrate what is happening as a session unfolds. Meditation also supports resonance in the practitioner as support to the client. Different meditations are used within our workshops and trainings, from physical movement, to walking, to sitting silently in some of the earth’s most sacred places.
Discover your Breath
Modulating the breath is known to impact our emotional and physical states, but that’s not all. Changing how we breathe changes how our nervous system functions. Deep understanding of the breath has been shown to both change the quality of our lives and impact the way our subconscious and conscious minds work together. Breathwork is something that anyone can do, anywhere in the world—and it has been shown to have immediate, positive impact for those suffering from grief, anxiety, and many other challenges.
Is BBTRS® a Good Fit For You?
BBTRS® workshops, trainings, and webinars are attended by people who come from a rich variety of backgrounds. Of course, trauma-informed breathwork practitioners are a perfect fit, but anyone Interested in a new career in holistic arts can find fulfillment with us. We also welcome practitioners in many other modalities, including breathwork, somatic, medical, mental health, and spiritual/energetic specialties.
We offer both personal and professional training tracks to support those who simply want to experience this modality for themselves—and for practitioners who would like to add BBTRS to their own professional offerings. These options are available to anyone exploring the program, regardless of your background.
